Marjorie Taylor, Watson Realty Corp St. Augustine Beach office, is among the few in St. Augustine to earn the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR’s) Green Designation, the only green real estate professional designation recognized by NAR.  

Taylor achieved this prestigious designation by completing course work specifically designed for REALTORS®.  The courses were created in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of industry experts from across the country; ensuring designees gain comprehensive knowledge of green homes and buildings and issues of sustainability in relation to real estate.

With this training, she is able to assist clients in evaluating evaluate the cost/benefits of green building features and practices, distinguishing between industry rating and classification systems, listing and marketing green homes and buildings, discussing the financial grants and incentives available to homeowners, and helping consumers see a property’s green potential.

“I’ve always been concerned about our environment, I’m a recycler from way-back”, states Taylor, “This class opened my eyes and made me aware that close to one-half of all greenhouse gas emissions are produced from buildings. Green building isn’t just responsible; it’s necessary! Both consumer demand and government policy are making this happen, shaping the future of the real estate industry and leading to a more sustainable future for our grand-children”

Taylor’s varied career experience spans over 27 years and around the world.  From working with Fortune 500 clients locating co-ops in Manhattan, NY to assisting embassy dignitaries find the ideal property in Rome, Italy as well as helping many buyers and sellers with homes in St Augustine.   She has served on the Board of Directors of the local Board of REALTORS, Vice President of The Women’s Council of REALTORS St. Augustine Regional Chapter and is a  multi-year recipient of the Florida REALTORS Honor Society.    Taylor also is a long-time community advocate and volunteer in St. Augustine.
